Billing/Medical Aids

• Dr. Eksteen is contracted with the majority of major medical aids and will apply for prescribed minimum benefits where applicable.

• Accounts will be submitted directly from the practice to your medical aid.

• Private fees are charged in accordance with the Healthman Psychiatry Costing Guidelines, and an invoice will be issued following the consultation for prompt settlement. Kindly contact us should you wish to enquire about private rates.

• All prescriptions, medical motivations, completion of chronic medication forms and similar documentation will incur an additional fee as they are completed outside of appointment time.
  Requests for prescriptions should be submitted via email or telephone.

• Please be advised that you remain ultimately responsible for the settlement of your account should your medical aid decline payment or full payment not made.

• Missed appointments, as well as appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, will be charged in full. The practice reserves the right to levy the consultation fee directly to you (and not your medical aid) as a cancellation fee, as the reserved time could otherwise have been allocated to another patient.
