You will have the opportunity to elaborate on the information provided in your assessment form and to ask any questions you may have.
I will conduct a structured diagnostic interview, asking specific questions related to ADHD criteria, and will provide feedback regarding whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
If a diagnosis is confirmed, we will discuss appropriate treatment options and develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
If you have already been diagnosed with ADHD, our focus will centre on addressing your current ADHD-related concerns.

Follow-up appointments will be scheduled as needed to determine the appropriate medication choice, optimise dosing, and monitor for potential side effects. Once treatment is stabilised, I collaborate directly with your general practitioner, providing guidance and support in the ongoing management of your ADHD-related concerns.

IMPORTANCE OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS/COLLATERAL FROM CHILDHOOD:
The diagnosis of Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is based on the fulfillment of specific criteria as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). A critical requirement is that “several symptoms of inattention or hyperactivity/impulsivity were present prior to the age of 12 years.” This criterion reflects the understanding that ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that originates in childhood.
It is important to distinguish ADHD from other conditions that may present with similar symptoms such mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. Establishing evidence of symptom onset during childhood aids in differentiating ADHD from these other potential causes of current difficulties. While elementary school report cards are not strictly necessary to confirm a diagnosis, their availability can significantly enhance the accuracy of the diagnostic process.
