Meet Dr Eksteen
Dr Hendri Eksteen is a specialist psychiatrist with experience in both public and private healthcare settings. Having worked in high-volume psychiatric emergency departments, as well as psychiatric hospitals, he brings a comprehensive and compassionate approach to mental health care.
Currently in private practice in the Cape Winelands, Dr Eksteen specializes in adult psychiatry treating a broad range of mental illnesses. He does have special interests in substance use disorders, ADHD as well as interventional psychiatry/neuromodulation.

With a focus on evidence-based treatments, Dr Eksteen is dedicated to helping patients achieve lasting mental wellness.
He adopts a collaborative approach in all patient interactions, striving to establish a cohesive and trusting therapeutic alliance in which treatment decisions are made jointly, following thorough discussion and careful consideration.

When he is not spending time with his favourite people—his wife and kids—you’ll find him outdoors, exploring new places, mountain biking, or getting lost on a trail. As a late-onset but hopeful triathlete, he is constantly chasing new challenges and pushing his limits one swim, ride, and run at a time.
